A gallery of fine art by equine, fantasy, western and wildlife artist, Kerry Nelson, including original oil paintings, current and past artwork, projects, and, news!
This young centaur lad loves to play the good-guy with white hat, silver star and six-shooter, and, his favorite character to play; the lone ranger! This is an ACEO oil painting on birch.
Dear Kerry, Another Child-taur Triumph! Centaurs in our age would probably watch TV a little. The Kidds would naturally get ideas from Cowboy & Indian shows. They would indeed pick Heroes to emulate! Unlike Human children, the centaur children would not need a horse for transportation. LOL! Another GEM from Kerry's mind. And another fine oil OOAK painting added to my collection. Great job, Kerry! Sincerely, Don Kephart
LOL! Yes, I imagine if they lived among us now, the kids at least would want to participate in all the same games, sports, and past-times that they see human kids doing. I'm surprised a bit that I haven't run out of ideas for centaur paintings, yet! I still have plenty of ideas kicking around in my head, though. There are just so many possibilities of interpretation with such a fantasy creature to ever really run dry of ideas! If I get tired of one scenario such as the modern-day centaurs, I can always work something up from traditional mythology, or, make up a completely differant fantasy world of centaurs to paint.
Kerry, I just rounded up "lone Rangertaur!" He is a Darling! Keep the Centaur Kidds coming & I will adopt most of them for the Herd here in Montana! LOL! Thanks to YOU, a VERY talented Artist & Friend! Don K.
