OK, I have ignored this blog for too, too long...ever since I discovered...yes, I... discovered facebook!  Well, I feel I already have too much invested in this blog to just let it die, so perhaps out of guilt, I do intend to begin regular weekly postings again.  Sorry I forgot you blog...it's all Facebooks fault!

So, to help get back up-to-date, here are some artworks finished during the blackout! All of the ACEOs (2.5x3.5") are shown life-sized.  You can click on the others photos to bring up larger views.

New Work - Break Away

With a shrill, echoing scream of defiance at his human captor, Pegasus springs powerfully into the sky from the high mountain cliff! With strong wingbeats, he is soon just a glittering speck of white against a foggy mountain cloudscape!

I love to paint Pegasus!  Leaping for the sky or soaring like an eagle, there is something so facinating about a winged horse!  I try to paint my Pegs as if they could really be real!  From skeletal anatomy to muscles  to wing shape and size, creating a flying horse and making him believable is my favorite fantasy painting subject!   This Peg painting is 5x7 on birch.
